Crazy as a FOX

So Fox has decided to completely change their mid-season line up... Like, completely... most of the changes are great for me because now i can fit more shows into my schedule and not have to wait 3 hours later for time-shifting to watch them and end up awake way past my sleepy time (yes, i like sleeping, so tis only the best shows that keep me up that late). Anywho, the best news is that FINALLY Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles is moving to Fridays before the highly anticipated Joss Whedon show Dollhouse (OMGOMGOMG, I LOVE YOU WHEDON SO MUCH I WOULD SMOKE YOU IN A PIPE) which seems like a bad move seeing as how Fridays are when networks put their dead/dying shows on... But the two shows are an awesome pair, so i have hope for Terminator, with it being before Dollhouse, perhaps the Whedon crowd will tune in (which they should be already seeing as Summer Glau is on the show)... crosses fingers so hard! seriously. Fox best not cancel The Sarah Connor Chronicles or I will go Terminator on their ass! So it seems Fridays are going to be awesome TV nights after all cuz honestly, Dollhouse looks soo great, i am uberly excited for it! and i missed Terminator, it isn't the same watching it online.

so in other changes, House is being moved to Mondays, which is not cool, because Monday is the ONE night when most of my favorite shows overlap and i end up missing them... why can't it just stay on Tuesdays, WHY?! i liked watching House then Fringe, both about crazy sciency people doing crazy sciency things and talking funny. sigh. I guess i shall miss House and download it (legally of course...) because i can't miss Chuck on Monday's.

now there is another move that i am torn between, Bones is because moved from Wednesdays to Thursdays... WHAT? okay so i do like it because i don't have a show to watch Thursdays at 8, while on Wednesdays i end up staying up till 11 to watch it because i can't miss Pushing Daisies (best.show, everyone watch if because it is on the verge of getting canceled and i will be uber sad/pissed if it does), but the Bones move is sketchy, because Thursdays is also a killer move (not in a good way) for shows... But i think Bones i will survive the move because it have been getting solid ratings for the past few years...

anywho. Fox is just plan crazy, wee shall find out in a few months whether they are crazy geniuses or just plan ol' crazy crazy.

that is all

PS - Watch Pushing Daisies and Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles or else!

spoilers

so i should probably warn you all (by all i mean like one reader, you know who you are) that i am really bad when it comes to spoilers... i shall try to have warnings, i really shall... my bad. it would help if i knew how to do cuts ...
i shall learn
that is all.

Grey's not my colour.

So i just that Brooke Smith who plays Dr. Hahn on Grey's Anatomy has been fired from the show, and her last episode is this Thursdays... i will admit i was not a huge fan of Hahn, but i was intrigued to see where the Hahn and Torres relationship would go because i thought they were pretty good together. Sure i'm not naive enough to think that they would last forever, but i thought that Shonda would give them and the audience some time with them... but sadly the powers that be at ABC basically didn't feel comfortable with how the character was developing (code for they think she is too gay) so they told Rhimes to stop writing for the character. After reading Shonda Rhimes response to the canning of Brooke Smith, i was pissed. She made it seem like the character of Hahn was just not good enough for the show. HELLO, the show has been horrible the last couple of years, one more annoying character wont change that, the only thing that will is if you (yes you Shonda) stop writing half ass character developments like George being an ass and the Chief always yelling and being mean... oh and do something with Derek and Meredith, because i can't stand them right now... at least try a little harder! seriously! what happened to the awesome ensemble that was once Grey's? Izzie, George, Meredith, Alex, and Cristina use to bond and had awesome friendships, now they seem to either hate each other, sleep together, or just ignore each others presence, and with Addison gone the only sane people (Cristina, Bailey, Mark, and Callie) don't get enough screen time or plot development, i mean they are all single and it seems they are only there for moral support for others or something... I DON'T GET IT! sigh... this whole thing is pissing me off... I really don't know how much more i can take. the only thing i was looking forward to this season was to see how the Torres and Hahn relationship would develop... now, i just don't know what is left for me to watch...
i need more from the show...
what was once one of my favorite shows is now on the verge of being cut from my TV schedule. how sad.

gather around and hear/read my rant

Everyone (and by everyone i mean just those who know anything about me) knows that i watch a shit load of television. Although i watch a lot, there are really only a few shows that i really, REALLY love. I thought i should share a bit of the love, perhaps start a little camp fire with all of you and together we could make yummy smores and talk all about how awesome these shows are, chanting and singing campy songs while joining hands.
I can't go on without first talking about Pushing Daises, probably my all time favorite TV show from the last couple of years, definitely my favorite show this year. I just don't get why some people don't like it! sure at the very surface of it appears too pretty and too childish, but under it all lies amazingly witty lines and loving characters with their issues, and of course some really great crimes. and most of all, it's just grand to look at. With it's colourful sets, gorgeous costumes, and hot actresses, how the frak is it being considered for cancellation when it is the only show EVER that has successfully created a fairy tale yet realistic world filled with happy thoughts and delightfully funny dialogue... i don't get it.
it makes me really mad.
if Pushing Daisies gets canceled i will pushing giant daisies in influential peoples faces...
or i will just cry in my room while eating pie.

ze next show that i am loving a plenty thus far is of course the adorably nerdy Chuck... from the show Chuck, i don't mean Chuck from Gossip Girl because he is just awesomely creepy, and i don't mean Chuck from Pushing Daises (although we are secretly lovers... keep that on the DL)
i mean Chuck Chuck. the show Chuck has a great ensemble cast, not the best ever, but the best for the type of show Chuck is. You've got the nerds, the hard core spies, and the doctor couple... you can't go wrong with that, plus never has a show made comic books and video games so damn sexy!

ah and last but not least tis 30 Rock... Personally it trumps The Office.. that's right i said it. I like 30 Rock more than The Office. I'm sorry Rainn Wilson, can we still be best friends? Not to say i don't love The Office, because i do, i really do. But Tina Fey is just incredibly awesome and has created a work-place environment that i want to work in... i want to be Frank and i want to go to one of Kenneth's lame and slightly creepy parties, and i want to have sandwich day, and work with crazy Tracy Gordan, and, and... i would even be a homeless person sleeping outside 30 Rockefeller center if it means i could some how be a part of the show. seriously, it's the most hilarious thing on TV since Arrested Development. and it doesn't hurt that it has the most kick ass guest stars... i mean Will Arnett, Carrie Fisher, and Oprah... what's next? my mom!

anywho, just thought i would share a bit... sure it's nothing thought provoking or critical, but i was in a ranting mood and what better things to rant about then my favorite shows of this year... I should however give some shout outs to Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (Sarah Connor never looked so hot, nor has a terminator), Psych (cuz the bromance that is Gus and Spencers makes me giggle so much), and How I Met Your Mother (any show that dresses NPH as a lesbian = genius).

Lacking Heroes

Just wanted to post something short and to the point...
I am worried about Heroes... What has happened to it?! First season was awesome, 2nd season was, well not great, but I still stuck by because in my heart I knew it would get better, so I was excited to hear the Time Kring himself realized the error of his ways and will bring the Heroes we once knew and loved. But sadly, there are a lot of things that went wrong this season, specially during last weeks episode which took place primarily in the future... There were things overlooked, many things just left me confused, and just a sloppy episode. I mean how the frak did Peter die (TWICE) if he has the ability to heal... I DONT GET IT!!! anywho. yesterday I realized something, there must be something wrong with this season of Heroes if I chose to switch to One Tree Hill rather than watch the entire show. By 9:30 I was more interested in seeing what the annoying broody Lucas had to say then Nathan... WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO?!
Please Tim Kring, Please stop making the show more confusing than it has to be, and just get back to the comic book feel and mystic that was once an amazing show, one that made me want to be a hero.
I still have hope though. I will continue to watch Heroes at 9, but whether or not I watch for the entire hour depends if Claire Bennett trumps Brooke Davis... it was never supposed to come to this.

Thoughts on the Emmy's...

So here at What Have We Become thought it would be interesting and perhaps entertaining to write our EXACT thoughts on the Emmy's. We wrote it the following while we were watching the Emmy's. How exciting, it's like live blogging, except we post it a day later... We at We planned to watch it together, but sadly that did not end up happening (my fault), so we will be posting two separate posts all about the event, and I hope you enjoy it, and leave comments! If you don’t like it, leave angry comments, we will still enjoy them. So without prolonging it (unlike the Emmy’s) here is what I wrote while watching the 2008 Prime Time Emmy’s last night...

- Oprah begins the night and remind everyone that she’s making people literate and talks about how important the Emmy’s are and TV and stuff, honestly I wasn’t paying attention, sorry

- So the hosts now take the stage. Umm Heidi Klum in a suit is ridiculously hot!!! But she kinda looks confused, as I am, because honestly having five crappy hosts does not mean it will add up to good hosting, quite the opposite. But we shall see. And of course, the first (of many) Sarah Palin jokes! Love it. Also much better to see that the Emmy’s is no longer in a weird rounded stage thing.

- I feel like I’m watching a bad improve class exercise. The five hosts are trying too hard. I

- was that necessary… really? Did Klum need to show everyone that she is actually a woman, unlike the other hosts. The only thing that was fitting with all that nonsense was Shatner being his creepy self, he’s like the Jack Nicolson of the Emmy’s

- Oh Tina and Amy, how I love you two. Marry me, it will be like Three’s Company but better. HAHA Amy, so grand. But I do think the aliens on Mars are offended with what you just said.

- First interesting category: Best supporting Actor in a Comedy Series – and I think NHP should win. And it’s………………. Jeremy Piven… next year NHP, next year.

- I’m excited to hear Josh Grogen or whatever his name is perform TV theme tunes.

- As someone who loves broadcast history, I must say I love the montages about some of the classic shows… LIKE SEINFELD!!!

- I heart you Julia Louise-Dreyfus! Will you be my mom? But like my hot youngish mom.

- Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series UMM KRISTIN better win!!! Seriously. The winner is……………DAMN! Frak Samantha Who.

- Brb, getting a spoon for my kiwi’s , yes I eat kiwi with a spoon.

- Heidi Klum is awkward, and not a powerful female role model at all. (if you haven’t noticed already, reality shows in general make me mad)

- Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series… I choose you Michael Emerson, because really, no one is as creepy as you, the Emmy goes to……. Zeljko Ivanek from Damages, I haven’t seen that show yet, but I shall soon and perhaps then I can say whether he deserves the Emmy.

- Hello Ricky! Teehee Ricky, you are awesome… Steve and Ricky, they should have their own comedy hour, with Jon and Stephen. Now the award for directing variety or music program is….we all know it’s always the academy award director.. Surprise!

- I am drawn to watching Gossip Girl on another channel… what do I do… I shall stick it out with the Emmy’s I suppose.

- I think Conan and Bart should be lovers and have strange half Irish half animated babies

- On to the Supporting Actress in a Drama Series… haha Katherine Heigl joke, love it…. I want Dianne Wiest to win, and the winner is………HOOORAYYYY DIANNE WEST! I miss In Treatment.

- Haden Panettiere and Jennifer Love Hewitt, two people who I’m like, blah about. How much do I love the naming of the writers for the nominated shows… plenty, it’s hilarious. Conan makes me giggle, what with his babies and my wife. Winner for best writing for variety and comedy – Colbert Report! Oh Colbert.

- The camera work is all off; clearly the director didn’t deserve an Emmy for the Oscars. Gosh.

- FUCK YOU HOSTS, so annoying. This is ridiculous and not funny at all.

- Steve Martin, oh Smother’s Brother’s! Love it. I guess it took 60 years for the industry to realize they made a mistake by cancelling the show prematurely… now all we need is a Laugh In mention sometime tonight and it’s all good. Anywho. Great to see all the oldies being mentioned. Tommy Smothers is a grand time filler, let’s hear it for Tommy!

- Oh and it looks like there will be a Laugh In reunion! Can’t wait.

- Finally the TV theme tunes it’s pretty good, Josh, you have impressed me. My favorites: Happy Days, Golden Girls, MISTER ROGERS NEIGHBOURHOD!!!, Addams Family!, MUPPETS SHOW, oh animal… The Jeffersons!, haha Baywatch, Brady Bunch, haha Law and Order just keeps popping up, like it does in my head! FRESH PRINCE!, Gilligan’s Island… bravo.

- Alec Baldwin! What a creepy yet hilarious man. Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a TV series or movie goes to… Laura Linney!

- … umm Laura Conrad.. really? Sigh. What is the world coming to!!!???

- I’m pretty tired, I hope I can survive mediocre entertainment

- Laugh In Reunion! Winner for Outstanding variety, music or comedy series… better not be Letterman… and it is no other then the charmingly hilarious JON STEWART!

- Poor David Boreanaz being paired with Lauren Conrad, so sad. nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series and Actress in a Comedy Series, I predict someone from 30 Rock winning… hopefully Will Arnett and Carrie Fischer, but no apparently not, instead Tim and Kathrin…

- Best Directing for a Comedy Series – BARRY SONNENFEILD better win!!! …and he does! I’m so happy, you have no idea! Anything that is Pushing Daisies related puts a smile on my face.

- Boreanaz looks uncomfortable.

- Best Writing for a Comedy Series, please Emmy Gods and Goddesses, let Bryan Fuller win. Have to say this is probably my favorite category, so hard to choose from!!! Winner – Tina Fey! Okay so it isn’t Fuller, but Tina is one of my many lovers, so I’m still happy.

- Tina, marry me, she always has the best acceptance speeches, all witty and to the point and fantastically grand.

- West Wing tribute. Must admit, never watched the show, hopefully that changes soonish, I do love Aaron Sorkin.

- Christian Apple here to present Outstanding Made for Television Movie, haven’t seen any of these, winner – Recount. Hooray you people who made that made for TV movie about…counting?

- DRAGNET!!! Holy frak, honestly these Emmy’s make me feel smart because I actually know all the references and montages of the classic shows. Thank you Broadcast History class, how much knowledge I received from you!

- I like Lawrence Fishburne red jacket suit. Rawr.

- Outstanding Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie – winner: Tom Willikinson, I am actually happy because I know who he is!

- Tis my favorite duo Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, I have been waiting for this, seriously, they are the best part of the Emmy’s, I’m just going to sit back and enjoy it. Side note director from Recount won.

- Seems Jon and Stephen were confused with having to present Best Writer for TV Movie, go dude from John Adams, sorry that you got cut off, now if it were Sally Field that never would have happened.

- Ps what the frak is with the camera work? Is it just me? please comment so that I don’t feel crazy about the bad camera takes.

- Howie Mendel, why are you so annoying? Why? Just stop talking, funny thing is when I met him he barely said anything.

- Go M*A*S*H*! Another show that is on my ‘to watch’ list.

- I’m sick of Patrick Dempsey, but I love Sandra Oh, GO CANADIAN… they are presenting some award for Outstanding Miniseries and Movies that I haven’t seen… go Dame what’s-her-name.

- Kathy Griffith’s hair looks crazy! Haha he’s hilarious this Don Rickles is. I want him to be my crazy grandfather and of course they make my least favorite category humorous and uncomfortable, which is of course Outstanding ‘reality’ show - Amazing Race.

- Sally Field is up, oh what a lady, although I would prefer her with a crazy big nun hat… nominees for Outstanding Miniseries, only one I saw Tin Man, but of course John Adams wins, which I must watch, 23 nominations, crazy. Tom Hanks and Sally Field reunite, I can feel my Forest Gump tears coming.

- I don’t like how they are making such a big deal about who will win best reality show host… I mean let’s be honest, they are all nothing compared to the should have been nominated Cat Deeley…plus they make for terrible hosts. Can’t all that reality show business be over with already?

- So many Desperate Housewives commercials

- … Kristin Chenoweth and Neil Patrick Harris… MATCHMADE IN MY HEART!!! And they are presenting Outstanding Individual Performance in Variety, or Music program… go Colbert or Tina! Winner: Don Rickles… yet again the crazy old man. Look at him go.

- Oh Kate Walsh, I love you. So hot. But kinda bad at presenting the award for Outstanding Guest Actress and Actor in Drama Series… I want Glynn Turner to win, seriously, his performance was amazing in In Treatment… and I want Cynthia Nixon to win because she is awesome… And my wishes came true, now these two fabulous winners are presenting Best Director for Drama Series I want Alan Taylor to win, Mad Men!!! And the winner is: Grag Yaitanes for House, still happy with that, for House is grand too. Especially cuz I can get a glimpse of ridiculously hot Olivia Wilde during Grag’s speech. Can you marry me Olivia if you are reading this, I’m not joking….Kate and Wayne are back with Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series… to which I want either Battlestar or Mad Men to win… And it’s Mad Men, bravo!

- Glenn Close here, presenting Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie - winner Paul Giamatti from John Adams, I enjoy him and his brilliant acting, and way to shun your wife. Tis hilarious

- Tis … with Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, I vote LEE PACE! but the actual winner is…. Alec Baldwin, no surprise there… but sigh, Lee, you will win one day, one day. And hopefully that day Charlie Sheen will no longer be on TV

- Go Tina Fey!!!

- American Ferrara and Vanessa Williams… what is with the audio… clearly problems this year… Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, I vote for you mom! Winner tis Glenn Close, not my mom, but close enough.

- In Memory… Alice Ghostley woot woot, Cyd Charisse, Deborah Kerr, Estelle Getty, Sydney Pollack, Bernie Mac, Harvey Korman, George Carlin, and many others, you are missed.

- Best Actor in a Drama Series, presented by Keifer Sutherland, thanks Keifer for keeping it short… I want Jon Hamm AND the dude from In Treatment to win, together. And the winner is…. Brian Cranston for Breaking Bad, a show I really really want to watch.

- CRAIG FERGUSON!!! I love you! I love you! Be my room mate right now please, we will have a wonderful time together! We will be creepy scots together (except I’m not Scottish, but you can teach me!)…And Brooke Shield… ohh Craig, ramble more, RAMBLE!!! Teehee… opps, I forget what they were presenting, and tis one of my favorite categories, Outstanding Actress in a TV Series and of course the best woman won (although I do love Mary Louise Parker) TINA FEY!!! Tina and I will be great friends one day, Me, Tina and Craig will be roommates. And Lorne Michale’s can be the weird but rad old man that lives in our basement and tells us to keep it down as we party hard till 8pm and tells us all about the ‘good ol’ days’

- Jimmy Kimmel, a comedian of sorts, sometimes I actually think he’s funny, other times not so much. Here he is presenting the ‘big’ category of Outstanding Reality Show Host… I hope they all lose and Cat Deeley flies onto the stage and smashes them with her charm and Amazonian ways. It is kinda humorous though, Jimmy Kimmel is actually kind of funny, I will admit … can Jeff win, because I think he is the only normal one…and he does.

- OHH MARY TYLER MOORE, I have been waiting for this! I have, I really really have. Mary, oh Mary, be my grandmother! The news room was a grand place indeed! Betty White! Hey girlfriend! Lovin’ the red. Ps Mary Tyler Moore looks amazing! Nominees for Outstanding Comedy Series, I’ve been waiting for this category… I Choose you The Office and 30 Rock, let it be a tie, for in my heart I can’t pick. HOORAY 30 Rock! To see Mary Tyler Moore and Tina Fey together… I stopped breathing… I didn’t really like that Tina Fey promoted 30 Rock…sure it’s one of the most underrated shows, but still… it’s the Emmy’s… anywho, on to à

- Outstanding Drama Series… Mad Men better win… and the Emmy goes toooo - MAD MEN!!! Hooray hooray! Good way to end the night!
